Fleet & Farnborough Membership Fees
Unlike most clubs, we allow up to three sessions for you to gauge if Fleet & Farnborough Chess Club is right for you before requesting fees.
Our club year runs from September through August, but we can provide reduced rates for those joining or leaving mid-season.
Adults
£40 per annum (Sep - Aug) + £48*
£30 (Dec - Feb)
£20 (Mar - May)
£10 (Jun - Aug)
Juniors
£15 per annum (Sep - Aug)
£10 (Jun - Aug)
*Our venue, Cody Sports & Social Club, also requires adults to purchase memberships for use of their facilities. This does not apply to juniors or non-participating parents of junior members.
ECF Fees
The following fees are not necessary for casual club night chess at Fleet & Farnborough and only apply to those who wish to participate in leagues or competitions.
If you wish to play rated competitive chess for Fleet & Farnborough (or any ECF-affiliated club), you will also have to be a member of the English Chess Federation. You can find precise details here, or key points below.
Adults
£20 - Bronze tier*
£35 - Gold tier
£77 - Platinum tier
*Minimum tier required for competition play.
Juniors
£6 - Bronze tier
£12 - Gold tier
If it is a junior's first time as an ECF member, their first year's membership is FREE.
Students
Students' (18-25) first-year ECF memberships are also FREE; otherwise, normal adult fees apply.
